Look, I know in our field it's pretty standard (and 97.8% easy) to make fun of the covers Baen Books puts out. They are gaudy and silly and glaringly offensive to graphic designers young and old, as well as a slew of other things. A Dribble of Ink recently showed off the U.S. cover to Paul Hoffman's The Left Hand of God, and it reminded me of one of my greatest pet peeves: "a novel" taglines. But don't worry. I cleared everything up in Photoshop for those that often get confused in bookstores:

Earlier today ravenelectrick revealed the cover for her forthcoming anthology Retro Spec: Tales of Fantasy and Nostalgia, which will have my art-loving bugs story "Art Deco and the Infestation of New America" in it. Um, evidently there's this anthology coming out from DAW called Zombie Raccoons & Killer Bunnies (edited by Martin H. Greenberg and Kerrie Hughes) and it has the worst cover art seen this side of a petting zoo. Bad as in...what is going on here sort of bad. It's true. Even Scalzi is (mostly) without words.
